Dexter County Park

Dexter County Park is located on 1,235 acres around Lake Dexter which was developed in 1962. The park has over 1,000 acres of undeveloped land with abundant wildlife and game fish. It is adjacent to Wood County Forest land.

Dexter Lake is 287 acres with a maximum depth of 17 feet. Visitors have access to the lake from two public boat landings. A secondary launch is located in the campground and is for registered campers only. A recently renovated launch is located on the southeast corner of the lake and is open to the public, and includes a boat wash-down station and fish cleaning house. In addition to boat fishing there are many shore fishing opportunities including handicapped fish access areas. Fish include pan fish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike and walleye. The lake’s water clarity is very low.

Dexter Park features a campground with 96 camping units (86 electrical). Blacktop camp pads are provided on all camp sites. Shower facilities are also available. Some of Dexter Park features include an enclosed shelter, playground, beach areas, and hiking trail.
