Build a Trip
Pick a county, an interest and how much time you have, and this builds a route through the places this archive can actually locate — ordered by real distance so you are not zig-zagging across the county.
What this does and does not do
It orders stops by straight-line distance between the coordinates each destination page states. Actual driving is always longer — a place across a lake is not the same trip as a place across a road — so treat the distances as "these are close together", not as a drive time. The time budget assumes roughly an hour at each stop including the hop between them, which is why a half day returns a short list rather than a long one.
Two things the strategy asked for are deliberately missing, because this archive does not hold the data and guessing would be worse than omitting:
- Season. Nothing in the records says when a place is best or when it is closed. Where a page does know — a trail closed in winter, a seasonal concession — it says so on that destination's own page.
- Accessibility. Only a handful of records carry any facility detail at all. Promising a filter would imply the site had checked, and it has not.
