The New Lisbon Memorial Library has an extensive collection of Native American artifacts donated by Harry A. Mortensen. The collection consists of over 4,000 artifacts, one of the largest personal collections in the state of Wisconsin, all of which were found in Juneau County. Some of the pieces date back to 10,000 B.C. The collection was given to the care of the New Lisbon Memorial Library, carrying out Mr. Mortensen’s wish that it never be taken out of Juneau County.
Portions of the collection can be seen throughout the Library. Visitors should stop in and enjoy the Native American history of Juneau County!
