Turtle-Flambeau Flowage
The Turtle-Flambeau Flowage is one of Wisconsin's premier wilderness impoundments and is barely mentioned in most Park Falls guides. It covers 13,000 acres with 120 miles of shoreline, almost all of it publicly owned, and motors over 25 horsepower are barred on most of the water.
It is the place to go when the Flambeau through town is crowded on a summer weekend. Access points off County Highway FF are about 20 minutes east of Park Falls, and there are no boat rentals on the flowage, so bring your own.
