Lawrence Creek Fish and Wildlife Area
Lawrence Creek Fish and Wildlife Area is a 961-acre parcel surrounding Lawrence Creek and it’s headwaters, located in the northwestern part of Marquette County and east-central Adams County. Lawrence Creek is a crystal clear high quality trout stream. There have been various stream bank improvement projects to enhance the already excellent fishing opportunities.
The vegetative cover is diverse, with a large portion being swampy shrub carr and lowland hardwood woodland to upland forests and grasslands. Additionally, many former agricultural fields have been abandoned and are reverting to natural vegetation. This unique mix of woods, water and fields provides prime habitat for a variety of game and non-game species and is a beautiful natural landscape.
Recreational opportunities are a year-round and include bird-watching, fishing and hunting, hiking (although there are no designated trails), canoeing and snowshoeing in winter. Several parking areas provide ample access points.
