Timm's Hill County Park

Timm's Hill is the highest natural point in Wisconsin, 1,951.5 feet above sea level, and it sits inside Timm's Hill County Park in the Town of Hill, about 20 minutes east of Phillips. The hill is part of the Timm's Hill Moraine, a ridge of rock and gravel left behind by the Laurentide Ice Sheet roughly 12,000 years ago. When the glaciers retreated they scraped most of Wisconsin flat; here they left a field that rises and falls and shapes every river and lake in the region.

A wooden observation tower at the summit gives a 360-degree view that reaches across half of Price County on a clear day. The current tower was rebuilt in 2024 after the previous structure aged beyond safe use. There are two parking areas: an upper lot a short walk from the tower, and a lower lot at the trailhead. The park has picnic tables, and admission is free with no reservation required.
