Allen F. Blocher Planetarium
The Allen F. Blocher Planetarium consists of a 7.3m diameter dome that houses a Spitz 1024 projector. The Planetarium staff present free public programs on Sundays at 2:00 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. throughout the academic year and during most summers. Fall/Winter programs in 2013 included: Winter Wonders, Season of Light, and The Night Skies of Winter.
Planetarium programs for groups can be arranged during the UWSP academic year and summer sessions. There is a $15.00 charge per group for these presentations. All of the programs present a look at the current evening sky. There are dozens of programs to choose from, designed for every school-age level, and can be either interactive or automated. Most programs are presented by UWSP astronomy students who work in the Planetarium.
The Planetarium is closed during UWSP break and interim periods (usually from 24 December through late-January, and August). For updates/reservations call
