Central Wisconsin Children’s Museum
The Central Wisconsin Children’s Museum (CWCM) provides a place for discovery with hands-on investigation. The activities at CWCM emphasize five areas of early childhood development:
- Creativity, invention and imagination
- Mathematical, scientific, logical and problem solving
- Social and emotional development
- Language and communication
- Physical health and motor development
All the exhibits are built and sized for children (and adults); both innovative and fun places to explore! Current exhibits include: Create-It! Art Room; Happy Teeth Dental Clinic; Good to Grow Grocery; Simple Machines; Life in a Pine Log; Lights, Camera, Action!; Dories’ Stories; Down on the Farm; Health Heroes; Mother’s Retreat, and Robin’s Nest. Children and adults are encouraged to play together to strengthen their confidence, capabilities and creativity.
The CWCM opened its doors in May of 1997 with the support of local businesses and families. An expanded Museum opened in November of 2010. Today the CWCM serves thousands of children.
